The Calgary Flames sent out a press release today that listed among other things, the club’s decision to keep the 2009 1st round pick traded to Phoenix in the Olli Jokinen deal.
Instead the team will now be forced to part with their 2010 first round pick.
Draft year versus draft year is up for debate, but the call could have been made in light of the team’s late collapse and drop in the standings, moving the pick from the 24th overall range to 20th in the first round.
The club’s picks for the June draft are as follows.
CALGARY’S 2009 NHL DRAFT PICKS
